The North Fork begins to see drop in COVID cases and increase in tourism amid mass vaccinations
APRIL 22, 2021 – CUTCHOGUE, NY // If a winery tours are on your agenda this summer, the North Fork of Long Island should be your first destination. If you’re a wine lover, the vineyards in eastern Long Island have safe, lively outdoor activities as well as live music and socially distanced interior set ups.
Vineyard lawns have transformed into socially distanced approved spaces to relax on the east end.
While many restaurants in the states were forced to move tables to parking lots or sidewalks, wineries often have open space at their disposal. Firepits, cabanas and music, coupled with your favorite wine make Long Island Wine Tours a viable choice for Bachelorette parties, weekend getaways and day-time fun.
Restaurants, such as the Cooperage Inn continue to evolve with safety standards in order to keep the North Fork’s spirit alive during these trying times. As more and more people become immune by way of vaccination and natural herd immunity, the east end of Long Island will begin to look like it did in the 2019 season. I think we’re all looking forward to that day and it’s coming soon.
